Daily habits for Self Motivation
Self motivation is a bit tricky exercise which depends on many things. You will need to bring in few changes in your habits and behaviors. Without wasting time, lets know what all you need to change:
1. Morning Rituals
This may sound insignificant but it can have tremendous impact on motivation level and quality of your life. What you do in first couple of hours after you wake up in the morning is a firm indicator what your motivation and energy level will remain throughout the day. It’s important to have a mindful routine and ritual in place to make sure your mind and body are energized right from the moment your day starts. Getting something done first thing in the morning will give you a sense of achievement which will, in turn help you to stay motivated for rest of your day.
2. Continual Feed
Can you live without eating today? You may survive for a day most probably. If you miss a whole week without eating what’s going to happen? Obviously, if you won’t eat for long time, you are going to collapse! Well, the same thing happens with most people’s motivation. It simply collapses due to lack of continual feed and nourishment. You have to feed your motivation consistently.
Now you must be thinking – How can we feed motivation? You can do that by following motivational & inspiring blogs, reading motivational morning quotes, watching motivational videos, reading self-help books, listening inspiring audio programs and get around positive people.
“People often say that motivation doesn’t last. Well, neither does bathing – that’s why we recommend it daily.” ~ Zig Ziglar
3. Daily goal setting
To stay motivated with your bigger goals and become successful with them, you should set daily goals and plan your day accordingly. When you plan out your day as carefully as possible, your chances of successfully accomplishing your goals are high. Daily goal setting is an integral part of any successful routine because it allows us to weigh and analyze just where we stand on a day-to-day basis. Since it’s easy to lose sight of our long-term goals, especially when dealing with the millions of distractions in our lives, daily goal setting allows us to stay on track and on point.
4. Ticking to-do list
From your daily goals list make a to-do list, as you move ahead in your day, keep ticking you completed task in your to-do list. You will feel more energized with each tick because nothing is more motivating than ticking your to-do lists. This sends a positive signal to your brain that you have been able to accomplish a particular task. Daily habit of ticking tasks on your to-do list will increase your motivation and productivity.
5. Celebrate small wins
It’s important to acknowledge and celebrate small wins. Celebrating your small wins and achievements will help to create positive habits. It will reinforce the good behavior and develop an addiction to progress. Before you go to bed, write journal of all of your wins and achievements, no matter how small, that you had throughout your day. You may call it your motivation journal. Once a week or fortnightly celebrate all your wins by rereading them and rewarding yourself with a prize of your choice. Celebrating your small wins and rewarding yourself can keep you highly motivated and make a difference between failing and succeeding.
So if you start incorporating these habits in your daily routine, you will remain highly motivated and will have a great day. Are there any key activities or habits you’ve found to stay highly motivated in life? I’d love to hear from you. Please share your experiences and views in comment box.
