Inspirational Stories with moral # 28 – The Group of Frogs
Once upon a time, in a serene, green forest, there lived a group of frogs. These frogs spent their days hopping around the shimmering pond, basking in the warm sunlight. One rainy day this group of frogs was traveling through the woods. While they were moving on small road; two of them slipped and fell into a deep pit. The other frogs crowded around the pit to help their two friends. The pit was deep enough and none of them could provide any help. They told the two frogs; that there was no hope left for them.
However, the two frogs ignored what the others were saying and decided to any how come out from the pit. They started with full efforts to jump out of the pit.

Despite their efforts, the group of frogs at the top of the pit were still saying them to stop and that they should just give up. That they would never make it out.
Eventually, one of the frogs took heed to what the others were saying and he gave up, falling down to his death. The other frog continued to jump as hard as he could. Again, the crowd of frogs yelled at him to stop the pain and just die.
He jumped even harder and finally made it out. When he got out, the other frogs said, “Did you not hear us?”
The frog explained to them that he was deaf. He thought they were encouraging him the entire time.
Moral of the Story
The words of others possess immense power, but only if you choose to absorb them. While the negative opinions and fears of the crowd can easily break your spirit during a crisis, choosing to “turn a deaf ear” to the naysayers is often the ultimate key to your survival and success.
Invajy Insight
In our everyday lives, we are constantly surrounded by well-meaning “frogs” standing at the edge of our pits.
Think about the last time you decided to make a major, positive change. Maybe you decided to start a strict new fitness routine, go back to school, or launch a small side business. Almost immediately, the people around you—often projecting their own fears, insecurities, or past failures—start telling you why it is too risky or simply too difficult.
“Most side businesses fail,” they warn. “You don’t have the energy to study after work,” they say. “Why are you putting yourself through that crazy diet?”
If you absorb that constant chorus of doubt, the effort will start to feel heavier. You will second-guess yourself, lose your momentum, and eventually accept defeat right where you are.
But what if you consciously chose to be “deaf” to the negativity? You do not have to argue with the naysayers or exhaust your energy trying to prove them wrong. You just have to put your head down, tune out the noise, and keep jumping. When people shout their doubts at you, reinterpret it as applause.
Ask yourself today: Whose negative voice are you currently allowing to dictate your potential? Are you letting the fears of others keep you stuck?
The next time someone tells you that your current goal is impossible, pretend you didn’t hear them. Keep your focus entirely on your next jump.
